Some Easy Ibaadat for Menstruating Women
Menstruation temporarily releases a woman from a variety of religious duties that are otherwise considered obligatory, including ritual prayers, whether or not it’s during Ramadaan.
Many sisters, when observing the monthly period feel they cannot perform any act of ibadaat during the month of Ramadaan. This is not true as Allaah (ﷻ) gave us the blessing of time through which the sisters can take good of it by doing things that are pleasing to Him. Below are some easy ibaadat to do during this period.
▪️ Make lots of du’a (Supplication) to Allaah (ﷻ).
Being in a state of ritual impurity should not prevent you from making du’a.
An-Nu’man ibn Bashir (رضي الله عنه) narrated, the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Dua (Supplication to Allaah) is worship. And then, he recite a verse of the Glorious Qur’an;
“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” (Al-Ghafir40:60)
[Abu Dawud (1479) and At-Tirmithi (3372)]
▪️ To visit a family member or friend with the intention of keeping good ties.
Allaah (ﷻ) say:
And fear Allaah, by whom you demand one of another (your rights) and to the ties of relationship,
(An-Nisa 4:1)
Allaah (ﷻ) emphasizes Muslims to be kind and merciful with friends and family in all kinds of matters or dealings. By keeping good relations with friends and family we are supposed to maintain a positive social impact on the society which in result leads to uniting Muslims together.
▪️ Make lots of istighfar and remembrance of Allaah (ﷻ).
This can be done when in the kitchen or doing some other house chores.
Allaah (ﷻ) say;
O you who have believed, remember Allaah with much remembrance ▪And exalt Him morning and afternoon.
(Al-Ahzab 33:41-42)
▪ Listen to the Glorious Qur’an frequently.
This will enable you to perfect your recitation of the Glorious Qur’an, help revise what you’ve memorize and constantly remembering Allaah (ﷻ) in your heart and mind.
▪️ Reading beneficial books.
This can be by reading books from the sunnah and righteous scholars which will help you understand more about Islam, the purpose of this life, and duties towards Allaah (ﷻ).
Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said;
Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.
(Sunan Ibn Mājah 224)
▪️ Spread the greetings of salaam.
This could be to familiar sisters or acquaintance. Exchanging salaam holds a high position in Islam, not only is salaam equated with many other important deeds, but it is one of the defining criteria of belief.
Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) reported that: the Prophet (ﷺ) said;
“You will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I show you something that, if you did, you would love each other? Spread peace between yourselves.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 54)
▪️ Give da’awah to Muslims and non- Muslims.
This could be by sharing Islamic posts on Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media. Most importantly being a good example through manners, speech and actions.
Allaah (ﷻ) says:
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allaah and does righteousness and says, “Indeed, I am of the Muslims.”
(Fussilat 41:33)
_
In conclusion, let’s renew our intentions and do every act for the sake of Allaah, strive to act upon and follow the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his companions.
May Allaah (ﷻ) keep guiding us, protect us and accept our every act of ibadaat.
